SK8 ATX is Austin's inline skating community. We roll twice a week, year-round, through the streets of Austin — building skills, building friendships, and showing the city what skating in 2026 looks like.
Whether you're brand new to skating or you've been on wheels for decades, there's a place for you here. Come roll with us.
SK8 ATX is a grassroots inline skating community based in Austin, Texas. We host two free weekly group skates — Monday nights for distance and intensity, Wednesday nights for everyone — and we're growing the scene one Wednesday-night newcomer at a time. If you're ready for the pace and city skating is your thing, feel free to come on out to our Monday Nights straight away!
In fall 2026, we're hosting the first Capital City Skate, our inaugural multi-day skating event for the broader inline community.

SAFETY NOTE
Skating with SK8 ATX is at your own risk. We strongly encourage helmets at every skate, along with wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads — especially if you're newer to the sport. Lights and reflective gear are encouraged for night skates. We do not provide insurance or coverage of any kind — skate smart.
FAQ
Do I need to register for the weekly skates? No. Just show up on time at the meet-up spot. The skate is free.
Is there a fee? No. The weekly Monday and Wednesday skates are free, and Capital City Skate (September 2026) is also free. We just ask that you register for Capital City Skate so we can plan accordingly.
What kind of skates should I have? Inline skates (a.k.a. "rollerblades"). Quad skates and long boarders are welcome to join, but our routes are designed around inlines.
What if it rains? We typically cancel for rain or inclement weather. Check @sk8atxofficial on Instagram or the Facebook group before heading out.
Can I bring my kid / dog / friend? Friends always. Kids depending on age and skill — they will need to maintain the same pace as the rest of the group. Dogs not during the skate (please).
Can I join with a bike? In general, no, skates only. We do welcome quads and long boards, if you can keep up! There are many other oppurtunities to join fellow bikers around the city, our friends at Ride Bikes Austin being one of them! We occassionally invite other groups to join for one-off events or allow for members who've joined regularly on skates and may have extenuating circumstances.
